In 2024, we held a R&D for Barrenbrook at the Theatre Royal in Dumfries, generously funded by the Noël Coward Foundation.

This crucial phase allowed us to explore the show’s structure, mechanics, and audience engagement in a live setting. We conducted several full-scale, invited audience test performances, enabling us to trial different narrative paths, refine interactive elements, and observe audience dynamics in real time.

The feedback and discoveries made during this R&D were instrumental in shaping the show’s final format. It marked a significant leap forward in our development process, creatively and practically, towards full production.
