Our young associates join us at the very beginning of their adventure. We particularly enjoy nurturing the talents of our young associates, enabling growth and forging new paths.

My name is Emma, and I am from a town in Dumfries and Galloway called Dalbeattie. I grew up around the amateur scene in this area and fell in love with the art of performing.

At university, I joined the student theatre society and acted, directed and wrote for them. I was on the Board for two years as the venue manager and general secretary, and this is where my interests flourished and I knew I enjoyed the backside of production rather than being in the spotlight.

I recently graduated in 2021 from the University of Glasgow with a 2.1 in Theatre Studies. Graduating in the pandemic was hard and it has not been easy to find opportunities that fit my interests. My dissertation was on community surrounding rural amateur theatre in Scotland, and once I received an A for my research, I knew I wanted to go into the field of making or helping make theatre that could broaden opportunities and bring local talent to the local people.
