Bunbury Banter is an award-winning creative organisation based in Dumfries & Galloway.

We specialise in immersive, sensory storytelling that invites audiences to step inside the heart of an experience. Our work challenges conventional formats by placing participants at the centre of the narrative, encouraging reflection, connection, and active engagement.

We create bold, emotionally resonant work that blends live performance, participatory gameplay, and sensory design. Whether it’s through intimate sound-led journeys, psychologically charged group experiences, or playful narrative encounters, our productions are built to adapt, transforming libraries, community halls, and non-traditional spaces into sites of imagination and discovery.

Our past projects include The Silenced, Werewolf Online, A Play, A Poet and A Pastry, Words Live, Blackout, Wherever Dreams Dwell and the critically acclaimed Beneath the Dust.

In addition to our performance work, we run year-round creative engagement programmes in schools and communities, using storytelling to spark confidence, creativity, and communication, especially among young people and those in underserved areas.
